Young boy killed in bicycle accident in Azusa

An 11-year-old boy was recently killed in a bicycle accident while riding in a marked crosswalk at the itersection of Baseline Road and Rockvale Avenue in Azusa, CA

Martin Solorio was on his way home from his first day of middle school when he was struck by a car.

He died from fatal injuries to the head after being thrown approximately 100 feet from the crosswalk.

Motorist under investiagation:

Reporters note that the driver of the vehical, 42-year-old Francine Willis, is under investiagtion. She was reportedly booked on on two unrealted traffic arrest warrants at the time of the fatal accident. She has not yet been criminally charged with the death of the boy, but the investigation continues.

Reporters note that officials are looking into the cause of the fatal accident, as Martin was reportedly riding in a clearly marked crosswalk at the intersection. Willis faces criminal vehicular manslaughter charges if officials confirm negligence in this case.
