A lawsuit was recently filed for the death of a Chicago resident who was hit and killed by a school bus last year.
The suit has been filed by the victim’s companion who is seeking answers and compensation on behalf of her lost loved one.
Bus Driver Makes Wrong Turn
Marilyn Stark was reportedly on a routine walk one afternoon last July when she was suddenly hit by a school bus that was making a turn at a red light.
The driver of the bus, Judith Chitty says she saw Stark before looking both ways and turning the bus to the right.
Chitty says she thought the bus had collided with a car, but to her horror realized that Stark had crossed the street and the bus had rolled over her.
Suit Filed
Eleanor Welz, Stark’s life partner, has filed a wrongful death suit against Chitty and the Valley View School District.
The lawsuit accuses Chitty of being reckless and disobeying a red light to make a right-hand turn.
The suit reportedly has two parts: One involving the injuries that Stark suffered and the other addressing her sudden death.
In the lawsuit, Welz is seeking an estimated $50,000 in damages.
