The family of a woman who lived in California and was killed in December in a car accident has filed a wrongful death suit against singer, Brandy Norwood.
The freeway accident was reportedly triggered by Norwood, 28, and the family is now seeking compensation on behalf of their loved one for $50 million.
Controversial Freeway Accident
California Highway Patrol officials reportedly suggested the family file the misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter suit against the R&B singer.
According to reports, Norwood was traveling around 65 mph on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles in her
Land Rover when she rear-ended a 2005 Toyota that was being driven by Awatef Aboudihaj.
The impact of the crash allegedly caused the Toyota to crash into another car before slamming into the center divider where it was hit by an Acura.
Victim Loses Battle in Hospital
Aboudihaj, 38, reportedly died the night of the accident due to injuries sustained from the crash.
The victim’s parents, Ahmed and Labridi Zohra filed the suit shortly after claiming Norwood was recklessly driving and therefore was responsible for the woman’s death.
